The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) PERMITS shapefile consists of over 5000 oil and gas well permit locations within the State of Colorado. The point data represent locations that are approved for drilling and/or recompletion. Permits are valid for one year. Once an Operator submits the required completion information to the COGCC documenting that the well has been drilled or recompleted, the permit point is deleted and replaced with a well point. Well IDs and other header information are provided as attributes. The COGCC is the official repository for Colorado's oil and gas information.
